The Olive Oil Worth Knowing About — And Why Polyphenols Actually Matter

This one is a little off-script. Because what I want to share isn't a serum or a treatment — it's an olive oil. But stay with me, because this one is genuinely worth knowing about.

Oliveda just released a limited-edition extra virgin olive oil made from two rare wild olive varieties, Acebúche and Manzanilla, harvested from their own eco-certified groves in Spain. These groves sit inside a nature reserve that's been protected for over 70 years, and every tree grows exactly as nature intended — no shortcuts, no intervention.

Only about 7,000 bottles were made from this harvest. That's it.

Why the Polyphenol Count Actually Matters

Here's what really caught my attention: the polyphenol content comes in at around 468 mg per liter. For context, Oliveda's regular olive oil runs between 250–300 mg/L. Polyphenols are the powerful antioxidants that make olive oil genuinely good for your body — so that's a meaningful difference, especially if you care about what you're putting in.

I also love that Oliveda tells the whole story. The founder started with a single grove of just 120 trees 23 years ago. Today, they tend 64 groves across the region. This harvest is the result of decades of patience and a real commitment to doing things right, even when nature doesn't cooperate.

How I Actually Use It

A few of my favorite ways this has made it into my daily routine:

  • Morning smoothie. I add a tablespoon as my fat source to balance out my macros. It blends in seamlessly and honestly makes the whole thing more satisfying.

  • Homemade pesto. Fresh basil, garlic, pine nuts, good parmesan — and a really beautiful olive oil makes all the difference. It's one of those things that tastes like you spent way more effort than you did.

  • The olive oil shot. If you've been anywhere near wellness TikTok lately, you've probably seen this one — a small pour with fresh lemon juice, first thing in the morning. The idea is that the polyphenols and healthy fats support gut health and give your metabolism a jump start. I've tried it. Worth it if you're curious.

This is one of those things I genuinely don't expect to last long — 7,000 bottles is a small run. If you've been olive oil-curious or just want to add something truly special to your routine, this is a good moment to grab it.
